Relevant work experience and how it relates to Toastmasters and your role as a District leader

I have 15 years sales experience in jewelry industry and 8 years experience as a director of sale department. I have strong marketing analyzing and sales skills and strategy. I am good at communicating with people and influencing people with passion. These  will help me to serve my areas and each clubs as a district lead.

What experience do you have in strategic planning?

My work requires me to lead our sale team to grow our business. In the past 8 years, I used our company's mission and vision to develop the employee's potential skills and their strength. We set our goal together and I help them to achieve their goals.

What experience do you have in the area of finance?

When I was club president, I assisted our treasurer to manage club finance. I learnt the skills how to manage the manage the money and make the money optimized. I majored finance in my university.

What experience do you have in developing procedures?

I founded QDCY toastmaster club which is the first club in my district and sponsored Qingdao Rocket club. Both experiences gave me opportunites to understand our member's demand and practise my persuasive skills at the same time.

What lessons did you learn from previous leadership positions?

team work and recognition.

When I arranged the G1 online speech contest, I missed the procedure to award the volunteer in time. That is a very big mistake because it is very important to recognize other's contribution timely. This is the one of element of MOT. I will remember this experience and ensure I will not have this mistake again.

Why do you want to serve as a District leader?

First I want to keep learning Toastmaster high level leadership and become a person like Dora Guo who inspired me a lot. Second, I want to lead our Division G to grow stronger and make all my fellows in Qingdao to be confident about their Toastmaster's journey. Last I want to be a part of building a strong team by our core value and reduce conflicts.

In your opinion, what are the District mission’s major objectives and how would you work to achieve them?

I think the D88 major objective is help all clubs achieve excellence. Because each club is the main resource for our member to understand what is Toastmasters. If every club is excellent club and offers great impression for all our members and guest, our organization is health and stronger. I introduced Speechcraft and menter&mentor programs to our clubs in area G1, Both programs are helping the clubs to strong the connection between each members and members to club.
