What is Toastmasters

Toastmasters International is a world leader in communication and leadership development. Our membership is approximately 270,000 members, who improve their speaking and leadership skills by attending one of the 14,200 clubs in 148 countries that make up our global network.

The world needs leaders. People are called upon to head families, coach teams, run businesses and mentor others: to be leaders To lead others, take action and inspire others to do the same. But leaders cannot facilitate accomplishments on their own, they must communicate. By regularly giving speeches, receiving (or obtaining) feedback, leading teams and guiding others to achieve their goals in a supportive atmosphere, leaders emerge from the Toastmasters program. Every Toastmaster’s journey begins with a single speech. During their journey, they learn to tell their stories. They listen and answer. They plan and lead. They give feedback—and accept it. Through our community of learners, they find their path to leadership.

History of D88

In 1999, the first Toastmasters Club in China was established.

In 2007, District 85 was set up officially. 

In 2012, District 85 was divided into District 85 (North and East China) and District 89 (South China), as District 85 accommodated 230 clubs with more than 6,000 members.

In 2016, District 85 club number will be over 200, and it will be split into two districts: District 85 and District 88. 

In 2019, there'are four districts in China, including District 85, District 88, District 89, District 118.

1999年，中国大陆第一个Toastmasters俱乐部在上海成立，后发展迅速。

2007年，第85大区正式成立。

2012年，第85大区拥有230家俱乐部，超过6,000名会员，正式拆分为第85大区

（华北地区，华东地区）和第89大区（华南地区，香港澳门）。

2016年，第85大区俱乐部数量超过200家，拆分为第85大区和第88大区。

2019年，头马在中国大陆已经分为了四个大区，第85大区、第88大区、

第89大区、第118大区。
