Relevant work experience and how it relates to Toastmasters and your role as a District leader

During ten years work as a lawyer in FORTUNE 500 enterprise, Public company and law firm, I have dealt with hundreds of legal issues mainly related to corporate law, compliance and lawsuits. This experience brings me strong integrity ethic, valuable skills in strategic thinking, effective communication and risk control in difficult situation. This enable me to lead team with energy and persistence, and support people in open mind as a district leader.

What experience do you have in strategic planning?

As a corporate counsel and lawyer, I am good at planing corporate governance. I once led finance and human resources team to complete the adjustment of organizational structure for 11 companies. During the experience as Area Director, I applied the High Performance Leadership Project and Distinguished Area Plan to support 4 clubs to achieve excellence. I take the role as club mentor to support one club recruit 17 members within half a year. I take the club mentor to support a new club charted successfully. The other two club get 10 points in their DCP.

What experience do you have in the area of finance?

I have completed many legal due diligence projects, and legal review of investment plan. I am awareness to the financial operation of the company. These experiences could help me to abide by the non-profit principles and pay enough attention to the financial health when serving as the district officer.

What experience do you have in developing procedures?

I have organized many shareholder meetings and negotiations in accordance with law and regulations. I am familiar with the democratic spirit and procedure of Robert's rules. This could help me build an open and democratic leadership style. I am confident to lead team with a real creative and positive atmosphere as district leader.

What lessons did you learn from previous leadership positions?

In my leadership experience, the sense of responsibility is one of the most motivation to get personal growth. Even though there are some tough moments such as the club has only less than 10 members when I was the club president, or experienced conflict within team members when I was the leader, I am always thinking and acting from the view of integrity and respect value. I first choice is communicating and empowering people within a humble and firm attitude.

Why do you want to serve as a District leader?

Giving is receiving. The longer I am learning in Toastmasters, the more benefits I get in self-revelation, positive change and excellent leadership. To be a district leader, is a precious opportunity to accelerate personal growth. It is also a chance to protect the common love for Toastmasters within high level of responsibility and service. It’s also valuable to build friendship with more members. I am looking forward to guard the value and mission of Toastmasters as a leader with all of you. It’s our tree of hop which need careful protection.

In your opinion, what are the District mission’s major objectives and how would you work to achieve them?

The key words of district mission includes club and excellence. I’d like to work hard for the club growth at now and the vision in future. For example, as a remarkable and booming city, the population of Xi’an has reached 10 million. Division H has huge potential in club growth and space to expand to other around  cities. The multiple demands of members provide energy for club, and also require development with focusing on club mission and comply with governance of TI. I can provide my professional skills and comprehensive strategic plan to the division in achieving our mission. And the most important may be energy of love and integrity.
