Relevant work experience and how it relates to Toastmasters and your role as a District leader

I work in hospital as a junior doctor, we really need sympathy to patients and their family, and network with others, one cannot finish all thing. Working in Toastmasters as a District leader help me build a different perspective of seeing interpersonal relationship and care about.

What experience do you have in strategic planning?

As a Toastmasters leader, I have much experience to facilitate members and officers training, conference programs, so it needs us to look ahead, think ahead and plan ahead. Like this Toastmaster year, I scheduled it with all-phased plan, with flexibility. We carried out President/VPE/VPM Forum to have more specific guidance and offer opportunities to let officers have interclub communications.

What experience do you have in the area of finance?

I’ve learned how to read financial reports.I record the expenditure, costs so I could know where I spent and then schedule it  better way.

What experience do you have in developing procedures?

I really appreciate to have SOP so others could learn the best practices from our experience. In our COT, Speechcraft program, we listed the SOP.

What lessons did you learn from previous leadership positions?

1. Listen, listen and listen. Respect and love. 2. Develop backup leader always.

Why do you want to serve as a District leader?

Because I feel so proud to serve so many people with my devotion and one day I hope to the International Director of Toastmaster to serve the world as Susan Zhou did.  I still have much to learn in leadership so I would love to embrace bigger challenges.  I want to be the change I would see in District 88. D88 need a PQD who could focus on improving program quality and devoted so members could benefit more from our education system and activities.

In your opinion, what are the District mission’s major objectives and how would you work to achieve them?

It‘s a target to let us be clear and focus. It's a ruler so we could know whether our measurements are effective enough. First, remember it myself. Recite it and stick it on the mirror of baseroom, read it before and after the bedtime. Then tell my teammates, where we are here and where to go. Third, measure it with our action plan.

Additional information about yourself:

I hope to witness every members' changes in District 88 and wish to support more and grow together.
